News The Alumni Clubs of Charlotte and the Triangle Area recently sent out a letter on behalf of the National Association soliciting participation in our License Plate Campaign. We hope this letter found those of you who have already committed reassuring you of our commitment to get a North Carolina license plate. But more importantly we hope the letter has reached new and relocated alumni to our state in order to move the campaign closer to the goal. As you can see to the right and below we have received a bump from this letter but still have quite a few applications to collect. In addition, we understand that many people have been hesitant about sending in their application given the number of applications we have to make up. It is possible that with your participation we could be much closer to the goal or even meet the goal. Please take part in the initial campaign to make this vision possible. Your participation is needed more than ever. Status We stand at 280 right now so we need roughly 20 more commitments to make this happen. So, we will begin contacting individuals to confirm count, contact information, and vehicle information. Please continue to reach out to alumni and fans in your area to round up these last commitments. The Overall Process 1. Secure the University’s Approval for Use of UK’s Logo by North Carolina’s DMV 2. Collect the names of University Alums and Friends who Would Support a UK License Plate on their Vehicles 3. Once Commitments for 300 or More Vehicles has been Obtained, Follow Up with Interested Parties for Vehicle Information 4. Collect Vehicle Information and License Plate Fees 5. DMV Designs and Produces License Plates 6. License Plates Distributed
We are on step 4 of this process but are still short of our 300 license plates. We are so close, so please step up and participation. Once we get 300 vehicle commitments, then the state can produce our plate. How You Can Participate 1. Download the application form. Click Here 2. Write a check made payable to the UK Charlotte Alumni Club for the appropriate amount. $25 for standard issue and $55 for customized plate. 3. Submit both the form and the check to: Marilyn Folnsbee PO Box 691542 Charlotte, NC 28227
Then go out and recruit more individuals.
